Multiplayer Gesture-Based Car Racing Game
Project Overview
NXT Interactive Saudi Arabia brought to life a first-of-its-kind Multiplayer Gesture-Based Car Racing Game in Jeddah, transforming traditional gaming into a touchless, high-energy, motion-controlled experience. Designed for a tech-forward audience, the game let two players race each other side by side, using full-body gestures captured by motion sensor cameras—eliminating the need for any physical controller.
The game was hosted as a part of a larger event focused on interactive innovation and digital sports, and it proved to be a major crowd-puller with continuous queues, cheering onlookers, and social sharing around the split-screen competitive action.
Core Experience & User Flow
Welcome Screen & Instructions
Players stand in front of a large 55” display, where the screen is split into two racing tracks—one for each player. A short animation demonstrates the basic gestures:Raise both hands to start
Move arms left/right to steer
Lean forward to boost speed
Gesture-Based Gameplay
The game starts with a countdown.
Players control their virtual cars through body motion—turning and tilting to steer around curves, avoid obstacles, and hit power zones.
Responsive gameplay adjusts to real-time movements, creating an intuitive and immersive racing experience.
Dynamic Environment
The racetrack includes twists, speed boosts, oil spills, and jumps.
Backgrounds can be themed (e.g., desert highway, neon city, futuristic arena).
Visual and audio feedback is triggered for every action—steering, speeding, collisions, and victory.
Scoring & End Screen
At the end of the race, a winner is declared based on completion time and accuracy.
The final score and racing stats appear on the screen.
A celebratory animation plays with optional photo capture integration for social sharing or souvenir print-outs.

Deployment in Jeddah
This multiplayer racing experience was deployed as part of an interactive gaming zone activation in Jeddah. Across 3 event days, it drew over active users and countless spectators. The racing zone became a hotspot for friendly competitions among friends, families, and influencers. The non-contact interface was especially appreciated in a post-pandemic world, aligning with hygiene-conscious experiences while delivering adrenaline-packed fun.
At NXT Interactive, we design and build such high-impact gesture-based, multiplayer experiences that combine cutting-edge technology with human motion—creating unforgettable moments where people play, move, and connect in the most innovative ways possible.
